5 Tampa Bay Restaurants I Recommend Over and Over Again
"How do you balance a full-time career in commercial insurance, staying committed to fitness, being married, creating content, and blogging?"
I get asked this question all the time.
The honest answer? Sometimes...I don't.
My calendar is color-coded, my to-do list never seems to end, and somewhere between client meetings, workouts, dinner, content creation, and trying to spend quality time with my husband, life moves fast.
One thing that has become incredibly valuable to me in my 30s is being intentional with my time.
I've realized that if I can combine multiple parts of my life into one experience, everybody wins --- and that's where food comes in.
A great dinner can become date night with my husband, networking with a client or business partner, inspiration for a blog post, or simply a chance to enjoy a healthy meal without having to cook after a long day.
Food has become one of my favorite ways to slow down.
Now before the Tampa locals come for me...
Yes, Columbia, Bern's, Olivia, On Swann, and everything around Water Street deserve every bit of the recognition they receive. They're phenomenal restaurants and absolutely belong on every Tampa food list.
But that's not what this article is about...
This is for the restaurants you may have driven past a hundred times.
The ones you've saved on Google Maps.
The hidden gems your friends haven't talked about yet.
If you're looking for somewhere that's perfect for date night, a business dinner, a protein-packed meal after the gym, or simply an excuse to explore somewhere new, here are my Top 5 favorite restaurants in Tampa Bay that are also some of Tampa's best kept secrets.
5. Babushka's
Sometimes the best restaurants aren't flashy—they're comforting.
Babushka's feels like stepping into someone's home for dinner. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and incredibly welcoming, making it a refreshing change from the louder, trendier restaurants around Tampa.
The menu celebrates authentic Eastern European cuisine with homemade pierogies, stuffed cabbage, hearty soups, tender meats, and traditional desserts that make you wonder why you don't eat here more often.
Their grill list features plenty of protein-forward dishes and organic products that make for a satisfying meal without leaving you feeling overly heavy and their house infused vodkas, vodka flights, and wine list pair perfectly for business entertainment.
Why I love it: It's different. It feels authentic, intimate, and it's a hidden neighborhood secret.

4. Chanta
My husband and I spent our first anniversary here. If you're looking for a date night that feels elevated without feeling pretentious, Chanta deserves a reservation.
The restaurant has a modern, upscale atmosphere while still feeling relaxed enough for a casual weeknight dinner.
Their menu blends fresh ingredients with bold Romanian flavors, offering beautifully presented dishes that make sharing a few plates just so you can try a bit of everything mandatory.
This restaurant was an experience that still leaves me thinking about it years later.
Why I love it: Great atmosphere, creative food, and one of my favorite places to meet friends, have a date night, or entertain clients.

3. Rosenheim
Rosenheim has quickly become one of my favorite recommendations whenever someone asks for a restaurant and it's quickly making its rounds in the community for a reason.
Inspired by Arab flavors, the restaurant offers a warm, rustic atmosphere that's both elegant and inviting.
The menu is filled with high-quality meats that make every visit feel unique along with to die for spreads.
If you're someone who prioritizes protein, you'll have no trouble finding a meal that fits your goals while still feeling indulgent.
They also have a fantastic list of Turkish coffee, tea, wine and beer.
Why I love it: It feels like you've left Tampa for the evening without ever leaving the city and features some of the best mixed grills you'll ever try.

2. Nene's
Some restaurants simply make you happy the moment you walk through the door.
That's Nene's.
It's vibrant, energetic, and full of personality while still being intimate enough for a great conversation.
The menu is packed with flavorful Georgian dishes featuring fresh ingredients, grilled meats, seafood, and plenty of shareable appetizers.
It's one of those rare restaurants where everything coming out of the kitchen looks incredible and the staff actually teaches you about the food, tasting notes, and history.
Their drink menu is equally impressive, featuring drinks that you won't find anywhere else in Tampa.
Whether you're celebrating something special or just escaping the office after a long day, Nene's always feels like a good decision -- and if you need an excuse to go, my mom is one of the pickiest eaters I've ever known, and she is CONSTANTLY asking me when we can go back again.
Why I love it: Great food, fun energy, and flavors you can't get anywhere else in Tampa.

Bayshore Mediterranean Grill is my number one recommendation.
As someone who tries to prioritize protein while still enjoying eating out, this restaurant checks every box.
Fresh grilled chicken.
Perfectly seasoned beef.
Tender lamb.
Fresh seafood.
Healthy sides.
Generous portions.
Great staff.
Everything tastes fresh without sacrificing flavor.
The atmosphere is relaxed, cozy, and welcoming—perfect for a casual date night, catching up with friends, or even grabbing lunch during the workday.
While Mediterranean cuisine naturally lends itself to healthier eating, the menu never feels restrictive. Instead, it reminds you that healthy food can actually be incredibly satisfying.
They only serve beer and wine but their mediterranean wine selection pairs beautifully with the menu.
I've brought friends and loved ones here.
I've recommended it to coworkers.
I've suggested it to anyone and everyone.
I've even found myself thinking about it halfway through the week trying to figure out when I can sneak in for a meal.
That's when you know you've found a winner.
Why I love it: Amazing food, healthy options, consistently great service, and the restaurant I recommend more than any other in Tampa Bay.
